Find a local pro, free

Kervault is free for homeowners. Post a request, hear back from local contractors, and keep your exact address private until you hire.

Post a request

How it works, step by step

  1. 1

    Post a request

Create a free account and fill out a simple form: what you need, the trade, and your location. It takes about a minute.

  2. 2

    Local pros respond

Your request appears to nearby contractors at the town level. Contractors on an active paid plan can reach out and send estimates.

  3. 3

    Compare responses and reviews

Look over the estimates you receive and read reviews from other users before deciding.

  4. 4

    Choose a pro

Hire the contractor that fits your job. You can update your request status as things move along.

  5. 5

Share your exact address with your pro only

When you hire, your exact address is shared with that one contractor and nobody else.

Your privacy

  • Only your town and a general area are shown publicly, as a shaded circle on the map. There is never a pin on your home.
  • Your exact address is never shown in the public request.
  • Your exact address is shared only with the pro you hire. If you unhire or cancel, that access is removed.
  • What contractors can see: contractors on an active paid Kervault plan can see your name, email and phone number while your request is open, so they can contact you and send estimates. Contractors without an active paid plan cannot see your contact info.
  • Contractors may use your contact info only to respond to your request, not for unrelated marketing.

Free for homeowners

Posting a request and receiving estimates costs nothing, and no card is needed. Only contractors pay for Kervault.

Tips for a good request

  • Describe the problem plainly, for example "water heater leaking from the bottom."
  • Pick the right trade so the right pros see it.
  • Mention timing: urgent, this week or flexible.
  • Note anything a pro should know, like access or parking.
  • Never put your full street address in the description. It is shared only after you hire.
