How Kervault Requests Work (Marketplace and Contact-Sharing Disclosure)

Last updated: October 15, 2026

Requests are free for homeowners and general contractors. Contractors pay a subscription to use Kervault.

What contractors see: Contractors with an active paid Kervault plan can see your name, phone number, email address, the details of your request, and your town and a general area. Contractors without an active paid plan cannot see your contact details.

What the public sees: Only your town and a general area shown as a shaded circle roughly 1 to 2 miles wide. No pin, no street address, no phone number and no email.

Your exact address: Shared with one contractor only, and only after you hire that contractor.

Cancelling a contract signed at your home: Rules for cancelling a contract signed at your home vary by state. Many in-home sales have a short cancellation window. Ask your pro for the written cancellation notice. General information, not legal advice.

How contractors may use your information: Only to respond to your request. Our Terms forbid selling it, putting it on marketing lists, or sending unrelated marketing.

Kervault is not a party to your agreement with a contractor. Contractors are independent businesses. Kervault does not employ, endorse, supervise or guarantee contractors or their work, and does not make or guarantee estimates, prices or schedules. A "Verified contractor" badge is not a guarantee (see below). Check licensing and insurance with the issuing agency or insurer, get a written contract, and learn your local rules. Many states, counties and cities require home improvement contractors to be licensed, and some require a written contract for home improvement work.

Your choices: Withdraw a request any time, ask us to delete your data, or opt out of contact-sharing with Your Privacy Choices in the footer (your requests will then close, since contractors can no longer contact you).

What the Verified contractor badge means

"Verified contractor: license and insurance on file. Kervault does not guarantee a contractor's work. Always confirm license and insurance yourself."
